PAOLO GIARO

Paolo Giaro is a modern day musician who shies away from any kind of barrier or distinction.
His musical research, a blend of different expressive forms, tends to draw out the most recondite essence of sound.

It is through this very essence, in his view, that music regains its original strength, ready to open its doors to every language.
A strong advocate of the harmonic co-existence of differences, or rather a dimension shared by all artists throughout the world, Paolo Giaro has accomplished fruitful collaborations with musicians of the most divers origins.

The composer and guitarist acquired a wealth of experience during his formative years, building up a personal artistic-musical knowledge during his travels around the world.
The heterogeneous nature of these experiences is clearly evident in his music: Indian and South American, electronic, jazz and contemporary influences.
These different accomplishments, added to a strictly personal research into sound, have allowed him to create original music which synthesizes the tensions, trends and formulae of today's world.

As a composer, Paolo Giaro has been involved in several recording projects.
His two most recent productions are the CDs "E' vento" (1995) and "Dancing in the night of the full Moon" (1996).
"Urbino", destined for International success, takes its inspiration from the Italian town Urbino. Here the composer, who also wrote the lyrics, uses the original dialect of the Duke of Montefeltro's territory in a very original and unusual way.

In its work which is both refined and playful at the same time, Giaro has made exclusive use of acoustic instruments while bringing mediterranean and oriental sonorities together. The result is music that he himself defines as "syncretic".

The release of "Urbino" CD also sees the debut of the Paolo Giaro Ensemble, a line up of seven musicians (guitar, harp, violin, double bass, saxophone, flute and percussion) through which Giaro brings to life to his most recent compositions.
