The gipsy band Los Reyes, which translated from Spanish means The Kings, has been existing for 15 years. Born artistically in the Camargue, in south France, the Los Reyes are the descendants of the wild tradition of the gipsy culture. Their name distinguishes a legendary family which combines talent for music with a marked creativeness of great authors."We proposed the gipsy pop music in a more modern way, re-evaluating and enriching it with the various Mediterranean cultures, keeping, nevertheless, a strong link with our roots" -says Antonico Reyes explaining their success.

Original, vital, enthralling the Los Reyes with their explosive mix of rhythm, combined with the extraordinary gipsy technique, continue and enrich the style of the overwhelming flamenco, rumba, created by their uncles -José Reyes and the very famous Manitas De Plata. People often wonder whether the Los Reyes and the Gipsy Kings are connected. It's obvious, the members of the two bands are cousins, they belong to the same family and in the past their successful union produced hit songs well-known all over the world like Djobi Djoba, La Quiero, Allegria, Galassia and Un Amor published in the CD Allegria by Columbia Records in 1982 and again in 1990.

Their artistic split, that goes back to 1988, enabled the two bands to follow different artistic paths. Since then, the Los Reyes have considered themselves an independent band with their own original repertory, continuing that gipsy-style pop flamenco which gave them world-wide success in the past. The band rapid ascent made them sign and publish 5 very successful albums, climbing radio top-tens in Germany, Finland, Austria, Benelux with the song, Lola Si Si from the album Pasion.

In Italy, the 1994 Los Reyes concert at the Greek Theatre of Taormina (Sicily), apart from the great prestige, marked a new important page in the band career. The extraordinary success of public and critics of that event opened to the band the most famous Italian squares and theatres and offered them a contract with the Italian company "New Music".

The participation of the Los Reyes, invited by the Vatican, to the 3rd Christmas Concert at Vatican's Sala Nervi, broadcast world-wide by RAI UNO, was a turning point for the band, confirming their popularity in the world music scene. Furthermore, the Los Reyes, lead by Antonico and Mario Reyes, became world-wide popular as Live Band going on tour throughout the whole Europe, Asia, Lebanon, Israel and Russia. In July 1996 EMI Italy and BMG Ricordi published the Los Reyes 6th album titled Gipsy Legend. It is a fascinating, very rich album with 12 new songs written and arranged by the band members, confirming the full artistic maturity of the Los Reyes.

In concert the Los Reyes appear in 14 elements: 6 very spectacular guitar-vocals, drums, bass guitar, keyboards, percussion and a horns section.
