Amiata will shortly launch the third volume of the music of ancient Rome, which focuses on the “ the golden age” (aurea aetas, a mythological age of harmony and perfection, which was pursued by many artists and philosophers during the late roman empire. Synaulia is a team of musicians, archeologists, paleorganologists and choreographers dedicated to the application of their historical research to ancient music and dance, in particular to the ancient Etruscan and Roman periods. Amiata has already launched two albums of the music of ancient Rome. The first one was dedicated to wind instruments and the Synaulia group's research led to the reconstruction of instruments such as syrinx, fistulae, tibiae, cornu, tuba, bucina, iynx, and rhombus. The second album focused on string instruments: among others the lyra, cithara, sambuca, cordae and pandura were reconstructed.
